Makeup:
This was my first time actually taking photographs for this project, I wanted to see what was better to use, a light box or out of a box with natural lighting. For the photos with the pens, I used lipstick to make it look like we had drawn something from the pen. For taking these I used a light box, however I didn't feel as if I could properly work in the light box because personally i think there wasnt a great deal of light and I couldn't work well in a small space which is limited. Lipstick: For taking these photographs, I used black card to create a corner of an open area to work in. I wanted to get a shadow off the lipstick and casing. I then also wanted to get the camera to focus on the MAC lipsticks and blur out the AVON lipstick lying down. I then got the camera to focus on the AVON lipstick and blur out the MAC ones. Chocolates: For these photographs, I used a macro lense so I could get quite close to the item used. I used a pastel orange card to make a cornered area, again working out of a light box. For the lighting I used a small bedside lamp which had a bright bulb and I also swapped the bulb at times to the slightly faded bulb. Tablets: Again, I used the macro lens to especially get close to the tablets as they are only small. I was really happy to get the writing on one of the tablets to be really clear on one of the photographs. To make the cornered area, I used a pastel pink for the flooring of it and a pastel blue background. Lighting wise, I used the brighter bulb from the lamp and the lighting in my kitchen which again is bright. I then experimented with the darker bulb which I managed to get more shadows off. Shot glasses: I used two different types of alcohol for these photographs, I used a pastel blue and green card to create a small area. The lamp I used had a brighter bulb, the lamp was angled from the right side to create a small light reflection coming off the shot glasses. I then experimented mixing them and created some puddles which I thought look quite effective as I could develop them in different ways once I get to doing so. Sprinkles: I used a muffin case and hundreds and thousands sprinkles. I also used a pastel blue and peach area. The lighting I used again had the brighter bulb which was angled above the area to create a shadow coming off the case. |
